Country: Tunisia

External title: Global Health professional, Dentist

Background

I am a native of Tunisia who earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from la Faculté de Médecine Dentaire de Monastir in Tunisia. Then, I earned a Fulbright scholarship, which enabled me to pursue a Master’s Degree in public health with specialization in global health, precisely in community health and development at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. In addition to my clinical experience in several hospitals in Tunisia, I worked for both the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the UN Migration agency, known as IOM. I also have an extensive international experience of over 10 years, of volunteerism, academia, professional growth and self-cultivation in 18 countries in four continents.
I would like to deploy my academic and professional backgrounds, international experience and skills to have a positive and sustainable impact, make a change in a field that I am passionate about and serve the global community since we are interconnected and interdependent. Indeed, I am keen on global health, which was my focus during my MPH, specifically the following areas: Chronic Diseases, Sustainable Management Development Program, Health system strengthening, Maternal and Child Health / women empowerment, GBV, Global Health security, International Emergency and Refugee Health, Global Disease Detection, and Infectious diseases.

Why GHNGN

My interest in GHNGN has started with my participation in a Peer to Peer session, which I found very useful and insightful. Then, I followed up with Andreea who introduced me further to the network’s activities. I am thrilled to be part of this network considering my passion to Global Health and that my overarching goal is to respond to the needs of vulnerable populations and maintain this connection with the broader international community. I believe that this network of dedicated and passionate future Global Health leaders is crucial and beneficial for those who are starting their career in this field as it will help them expand their network, receive valuable advice and stay abreast of the innovation stream.

Responsibility

Within the team, I am the Partnerships and Projects Supervisor. My tasks entail the identification and establishment of contact with potential new partners, exploration of new and innovative approaches to improving the Network and development of contracts and Memorandum of Understanding with partners.
