External Title: Community Healthcare Nurse, International Public Health Officer
Already during my Bachelor Nursing I had a strong interest in Global Health and after working as a nurse in a hospital for some years I decided to study the Master International Public Health. I became to realize that I am a morally driven person who believes in social justice which motivates me to contribute to the improvement of chances for vulnerable people. This brought me to Tanzania where, for the past three years, I have been living and working as Program Manager in a Maternal Health Project. Since September 2017 I am back in the Netherlands, working as a Community Healthcare Nurse using my qualities to support vulnerable people in a complete different setting. The variation in my work is what makes me happy.
Working as a nurse in the Netherlands makes that I am further away from the Global Health arena than I was as Program Manager in Tanzania. To keep up with the latest insights and share experiences with like minded people, I joined Global Health NGN. I am happy to be able to share my knowledge and qualities with the team.
I am the Internal Affairs Manager of Global Health NGN. My main responsibility is recruiting new volunteers for vacant positions in the team. I also collaborate and coordinate activities within the board. It makes me enthusiast to listen to passionate people who have ideas on how to contribute in their own way for the Global Health NGN. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
